We are extremely sorry to learn of the passing of one of our best supporters and original Board member, Jim Henry, on Saturday, April 13.
Jim joined the family firm, Henry Brothers Electronics (HBE)in 1978 after college graduation, first as an installer, and, later, as a systems engineer and designer. HBE was sold to a public company in 1986, but the CCTV business was bought back by Jim and a partner in 1989. From November, 2001 through December, 2010, Jim was Chairman and CEO of HBE. He took HBE public in 2001 and expanded the company footprint, with national scope and offices in seven states, as well as three subsidiaries. In December 2010, HBE was acquired by Kratos Defense and Security Solutions and was subsequently sold in 2018 to Securitas Electronic Security.
Jim was an original Advisory Board member of SecuritySpecifiers, dating back to 2011. Jim’s guidance, enthusiasm and humor (politics notwithstanding) was a major factor in the growth and success of SecuritySpecifiers and CONSULT. However, Jim’s footprint and legacy in the security industry goes far beyond. He mentored and influenced countless professionals and supported numerous endeavors in the security industry. It is no surprise that, in 2019, Jim was named an industry “Legend” by Security Systems News.
Jim will be sorely missed.
